New School Uniform Provider

November 27, 2012

As we have experienced problems with our existing school uniform suppliers, we have moved to another company with immediate effect.  Our new supplier is Price and Buckland.

You can order school uniform by following the link from the ‘Information’ tab on the main school website, or by going to http://www.pbparentsonline.co.uk/leaprimary.  You will need to register your name and password and then you are ready to order.

You can either choose to have delivery made to school, which is free of charge and done on a monthly basis, or you can have delivery made within 5 working days to a personal address for a charge of £2.50.

If you do not have access to a computer, you can pick up an order form from the school office and order by post, paying by cheque or credit card.

We hope that you will find them a more efficient company – please do let us know!

Christmas Fair – Next Friday

November 23, 2012
A reminder that our Christmas fair will be held next Friday from 3.30 to 5.30pm.
  • Raffle Tickets: Please return the counterfoils for sold tickets (with a name and telephone number on each), together with payment in a sealed envelope marked “Raffle” to the office by Wednesday 28th Nov.  Please could you also return any unsold tickets as they can be used at the Fair.  Any cheques should be made out to “The Lea School Association”.
  • Donations: Plates for cake donations and cellophane packets for chocolate donations have been sent home in book bags today.  Please could all donations be brought in to the school next Friday morning.  Also, don’t forget that these donations will be in exchange for wearing non-uniform on the day of the fair.
  • Tea Towels: We will be selling our school tea towel at the fair – these would make great Christmas presents. (See sample on the PTA noticeboard.)  Cost will be £3.50 for one tea towel, and £3.00 for each additional one.  For those not coming to the fair there will be an opportunity to buy them through the school in the weeks following the fair.
  • Face Painting and Santa’s Grotto: We have decided to trial a ticket no. system for these two stalls this year.  Go to the stall to collect a ticket and then instead of having to wait in a potentially long queue you can wander round the fair, get a bite to eat and simply check back periodically to see where you are in ticket number queue.

It promises to be a fun afternoon so we hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Y2/3 Trip to All Saints

November 22, 2012

Our Year 2/3 pupils visited All Saints Church today as part of their RE topic, looking at gifts.  They talked about the gifts Jesus received when he was born and they also enjoyed a ‘treasure’ hunt for various items in the church.

The children behaved beautifully.  Thank you to those parents who came along to help.

Harpenden District Cross Country Championship

November 21, 2012

On Tuesday a team of children from Y5/6 took part in the Harpenden District Cross Country Championship at The Rovers Football Ground in Harpenden.  Conditions were very wet, windy and muddy!

All the children took part enthusiastically and showed great determination in their races.   The opposition from the other Harpenden primary schools was very tough, and although we did not finish in the top 3 in any category, we were extremely proud of their fantastic efforts.  The team consisted of Jade, Farzana, Tamsin, Lulu, Ethan, Mateus, Dylan, Ted, Colin, Daniel, Owen, Simo, Colin, Daniel, Owen, Simo and Ishaq.

Well done to all of you! Thank you to Mrs Roper and Mrs Davenport for organising and accompanying the team to this event.
