Reception, Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic time when they visited the Natural History Museum today as part of their topics on Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Science. All the children behaved beautifully and learnt lots! We were very proud of them. A huge thanks to Sally Davey for organising the trip and to the parents and Governors for their help on the day.
Fiona Charlesworth from the St Albans Toy Museum visited Year 1 today as part of their topic on toys.
They had a really enjoyable time learning about and playing with some of the toys used by children in Victorian times. Some of the children were given Victorian costumes to dress up in and they learned about the differences between the toys played with by the rich and poor.
The next PTA meeting will be held on Monday 28th January at 7.30pm in the school’s staff room.
We will be discussing the events we are going to run over the coming months and in particular start planning an exciting Lego event. All parents, carers and members of staff are welcomed. Please do come along; it is all very informal and we are always looking for new ideas!
Don’t forget that The Lea School Association now has its very own Facebook page!

Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful storytelling week listening to myths, legends and fables in their ‘story cave’ set up in the school hall.
These were read to them by a number of visitors including Mrs Towers from the Library Service, Mr Harris, Mr Rennoldson and Mrs Swinson. On Tuesday they also enjoyed dressing up as characters chosen from their favourite books!
