Christmas Fair Fun

November 30, 2013

Well done everyone on another fantastic Christmas Fair! It was a great way to spend a fun afternoon and we have raised a good amount for the school along the way. All money raised will go towards new outside climbing and play equipment.

Many thanks to everyone for their kind and extremely generous donations and thank you also to all the parents and staff who volunteered to help run the event and make it so special and such a success.  Thank you for your continued support.

Classroom Update

November 29, 2013

If you come to drop off or pick up, you will no doubt be aware that our new classroom is taking shape with the framework having now been constructed. Our Nursery children have all settled happily in the main school building. We thank you for your understanding while the works are taking place as we appreciate there has been an unavoidable increase in traffic outside the school during the day.

Bad Weather

November 22, 2013

Now that the cold weather is upon us, please ensure your child comes to school with a warm coat, hat and gloves.  We do try to get the children outside at break and lunchtime even if it is cold as it is important they get fresh air and exercise during the school day.  Please also ensure they have appropriate footwear and that all items are clearly labelled. Thank you.

Please note that in the event that the school has to close due to snow you will be informed via:

  • a text message (ensure we have your up to date details)
  • Announcements on BBC 3 Counties Radio or Heart 97.6
  • Hertfordshire County Council Website (
  • our school website (

Year 1 Visit to the Harpenden War Memorial

November 20, 2013

Year 1 walked to the War Memorial in Harpenden today to learn about why it is there.  They talked about Remembrance Sunday, why there were names on the plaques and why poppy wreaths are laid.  They also drew a picture of the memorial. As always, they all behaved beautifully throughout the visit.

Thank you to Mrs Dada and Mr Harris for coming along to help.
