We are very pleased to announce that Pete Sampey has been elected as a Parent Governor at The Lea Primary and Nursery. We are sure he will be a valued member of the Governing Body.
Thank you to parents and carers for your co-operation in notifying the school before 9am if your child is ill. It is really important that the school is made aware if a child will not be attending school that day and we have noticed a substantial increase in those using our telephone absence line. We hope that this system has made it easier for you to inform the office.
Likewise, if your child attends an after school club, we would be very grateful if you could notify the school office in advance if your child is unable to attend a session.
Our football team played against St Nicholas today. It was an exciting match and our players worked well as a team. At half time it was 0-0 but unfortunately, despite a valiant effort, the final result was 2-0 to St Nicholas.
Thank you to Mr Harris for refereeing the match and to Miss Tyler for organising it.
As part of their RE topic, Year 2 walked to All Saints Church this morning to learn about what Christians do in church. They enjoyed looking for particular artifacts and objects as part of the quiz set for them and of course they all behaved beautifully throughout.
A big thank to our parent helpers Mrs Crowe, Mrs Mudd and Mrs Stevens.

You will no doubt be aware that we have been without a school crossing patrol for some time now. A flyer advertising the position was sent out to parents and carers recently from Hertfordshire County Council. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please ask them to contact Heather Hill on 01992 556815.
In the meantime, we also think that a few parents/carers contacting Hertfordshire County Council about the urgent need for a school crossing patrol, might encourage them to increase their efforts to fill the vacancy! If you would like to write, the contact details are as follows:
