July 17, 2014

Our Leavers’ Assembly this morning was an opportunity to wish Year 6 the very best for the future as they move on to secondary school.  We will miss you all.

The Lea’s Got Talent

July 16, 2014

We held our annual talent show this afternoon, which was enjoyed by everyone. We saw an amazing range of talents from the children. Well done to everyone who was involved! Thank you to Mrs Carberry and Mrs Gibson for organising the talent show.

Year 6 Trip to the London Aquarium

July 15, 2014

As a reward for all the hard work that Year 6 have put in throughout the past school year, they were given a special outing to the London Aquarium today.  They had a wonderful day, with some sight-seeing in the morning, followed by a picnic in the park then looking round the Aquarium in the afternoon.  They learned lots of new and interesting conservation facts about marine wildlife.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Butterfly World Trip

July 15, 2014

Our Reception, Year 1 and 2 classes visited Butterfly World in St Albans today.  They had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect! The children enjoyed a teaching session on the life cycle of a butterfly and on the ‘antworld’, as well as having the chance to wander around Butterfly World and have fun on the play apparatus.  The children were a credit to the school throughout the day.  Their behaviour was impeccable and even prompted a member of the public (a former teacher!) to comment on how well behaved they were, which is of course lovely to hear.

Thank you to all the parent helpers who came along for each year group, and thank you to the teachers who organised the trip.

End of Term Team Points

July 14, 2014

The team with the most team points this term was Ruby. Well done to Ruby who were rewarded with a fun time playing on the bouncy castle set up on our school field today.

Farewell to a fab DJ

July 13, 2014

Thank you to everyone who supported the school disco last Friday.  It was a fun evening and the money raised will go towards funding a new food technology room.  A big thank you to all the parents, carers and staff for their help in ensuring the evening ran smoothly.

A very special thank you to our DJ, Stephen Gooding.  Stephen has DJ’d at the discos for many years and we are very sad to see him go as the last Gooding child moves on to high school…  Christine Whyte has very kindly volunteered to be our DJ going forward, but we won’t forget that Stephen has said we can still call on him in emergencies!
