Pyjama Day Fun

October 24, 2014

It was fantastic to see everyone (pupils and staff alike) getting into the spirit of pyjama day today to raise funds for our courtyard – much excitement and definitely getting everyone in the mood for the half term!

Wishing you all a good break…

October 23, 2014

This autumn Flora and Stork, in partnership with Tesco, are running an amazing scheme called Tubs4Tablets which gives primary and middle schools in Great Britain the opportunity to collect tokens from special tubs of Flora and Stork on sale in Tesco from early October and exchange them for free touch screen tablets!

We need to collect as many tokens as possible, these can be found on promotional 500g tubs of Flora Original, Light and Buttery and Stork.

Bring in your tokens and just 50 of them will get our school one brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.00” Wi-Fi GB tablet, so please help us claim as many as we can. Thank you!

Year 4 Charity Event

October 23, 2014

Year 4’s charity event held this afternoon to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund was a fantastic success!  They had obviously worked really hard to prepare all the various stalls. Thank you to Miss Sykes, Mrs Collins and Mrs Silver for helping the children and to everyone who came along to spend their 20p’s!

A total of £144.97 was raised for the World Wildlife Fund. Well done to everyone involved.

The Only Way Is Up!

October 18, 2014
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Quiz Night on Friday – for joining in the fun and supporting our lovely school at the same time.  It was a great night out and Steve (and Mariangela!) did a fantastic job of quiz-mastering and keeping us all in line.

Congratulations to ‘The Only Way is Up’ who took home the trophy with a total of 102 points.  2nd place went to ‘I Like to Wear Dresses Because’ with 93 points, and 3rd place went to ‘Touchy Feely’ with 92 points.  The wooden spoon award went to Russell’s Rascals!

The evening raised around £365 which is a fantastic start to the year.

Year 3 Class Assembly

October 15, 2014

Year 3 gave a really informative class assembly this morning all about the Stone Age and Iron Age, which they have been learning about during their topic work.  The children have obviously been working very hard as there was an amazing display of  Iron Age houses made out of clay, sticks, paper and straw; leaflets full of interesting facts on the Iron Age; cave paintings; jewellery made out of clay; and a song all about the Stone Age. Well done Year 3!

Thank you to Mrs Davey, Mrs Hills, Miss Maycock and Mrs Silver for helping the children to put on such a fantastic assembly.

Book Fair Week

October 10, 2014

The Scholastic Book Fair is taking place the week commencing 20th October, from Monday to Thursday after school (from 3.30 to 4.15pm).  Please come along to the school hall and have a look at the fantastic books on offer at value for money prices. It is also an excellent fundraiser for our school.

The books will also be available to buy while the Parents Consultations are taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.
