The Lea’s Lego Exhibition – 26 Sept 2015

September 27, 2015

Thank you to everyone who came to the Lego Exhibition on Saturday. Our third Lego Exhibition at the school was the most successful yet! It was a great day, everyone had a good time and we brought in over £7,000 for the school!

A massive thank you to Russell Chapman for sharing (and building!) his Lego collection for the event. It couldn’t have happened without him. Nor without the help and support of all those parents, carers and staff who volunteered their time to help plan, build, set up and run the event.

The amount of help we had and the enthusiasm received for this event bears testimony to what a great team of parents and staff we have, and what a great school The Lea is. THANK YOU all!

Note from Mrs Swinson: “What an amazing time we all had at the Lego Exhibition on Saturday! It was a fantastic success and everyone really enjoyed the day.
Huge thanks goes to both Russell Chapman for bringing in his amazing Lego models and to the PTA who spent so much time and effort organising and running the event in the lead up to the day and on the day itself. The exhibition could not have taken place without these parents/carers and we are extremely grateful to them. The exhibition raised more than £8,000 in funds for the school which is absolutely magnificent! Thank you so much to everyone involved.”

Early Years Activities 21-25 Sept

September 25, 2015

This week, we have continued our topic about ourselves:
Nursery have been thinking about their families and important people in their lives. They have made some fantastic shape pictures of their houses and have been very creative in the home corner, acting out familiar routines at home.
Reception have been looking at everyone’s baby pictures and talking about how we have changed.
We then used a mirror to draw ourselves.

In Maths we have been counting using different objects.

Mrs Carter came in on Wednesday morning to plant some bulbs and tidy up our outside raised beds. The children in both Nursery and Reception enjoyed weeding, sweeping, digging and planting bulbs and we are very pleased with the end result! We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Carter for her time.

Early Years Activities 14-18 Sept

September 18, 2015

This week, we have been learning about ourselves.

In Nursery, we have been painting selfportraits, looking carefully in the mirror and learning rhymes about our bodies.

In Reception, we have been learning about babies. We had a mum and her baby come to visit us and she showed us what he needed. We have talked about what we had as a baby and what we have now.

We have all enjoyed exploring our outside area. In particular, the mud kitchen and the bikes.
