Year 3 Christmas Competition

December 18, 2015

Jonah, Tevez, Mujtaba from Year 3 recently ran a competition in school to draw or make a model of something related to Christmas. Children were asked to make a donation to enter and a fantastic total of £23.70 was raised for Save The Children.

The results were announced today – congratulations to Rhys Tinnion in Year 4 who came first, Tia Hastings in Year 5 who came second, and to Kristian Hristov in Year 3 who came third.

Funds Raised

December 18, 2015

We’ve had a very busy half term and have raised a fantastic £3,065 for the school over the last 2 months! This money will go
towards building the path to the outdoor classroom and play area. We are also looking to buy comfy new chairs for the hall to replace the orange ones:-

October half term bake sale £70
Christmas cards £435
Christmas fair £1,980
Christmas trees £30
KS2 disco £300
KS1 disco £250

Thank you for your continued support. The PTA would like to take this opportunity to wish all parents, carers and staff at The Lea a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.

KS1 Disco

We held the KS1 disco yesterday and a fun time was had by all – as well as raising £250 for the school. A big thank you to Helen Morfitt and Christine Whyte for taking charge of the dance floor; to Anna Chapman, Emma Burden and Judi Arichi for helping prepare the food; and to all the volunteers who helped at the event.

KS2 Pantomime Trip

December 17, 2015

All our KS2 pupils enjoyed a Christmas treat at St Albans Arena today to see this year’s pantomime “Peter Pan”. I understand that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the show, including the teachers!

A huge thank you to Mrs Davenport for organising the trip and to the PTA who funded the outing.
