What a wonderful Christmas Fair! Thanks to all who donated, volunteered & of course all who came and had a merry time! We raised £2000 for our school which is fantastic 🙂
Our Christmas Fair is only 5 weeks away and it’s shaping up to be a fun event again this year.
Arden Taylor is leading the production of the programme this year and Miriam Dorado, Christine Cain and Pauline Jones are gathering some fantastic prizes for the raffle. If you are aware of any businesses wishing to donate a prize or place an advert in the programme please contact Miriam / Christine at email@example.com.
We have a truly outstanding line-up of prizes for the raffle again this year: top prize being a fantastic Christmas hamper from the Governors. Watch out for the tickets which will be sent home in book bags on Friday, 17th November.
As usual the PTA relies on the very kind donations given by parents, carers and friends of the school. A reminder of the donations we’d like help with:
- Bottle Tombola for the ‘big people’ – we would like donations of drinkable bottles, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, big or small.
- Chocolate Tombola for the ‘little people’ – we also require chocolates in wrappers or boxes; big or small, advent calendars, etc. all gratefully received! We will be sending out cellophane bags for filling on Friday, 24th November.
- Cake Stall – a plate will also be sent home on Friday 24th November for any delicious baked goods.
- Adopt A Teddy – please donate any unwanted soft toys in a good condition.
- Christmas Stall / 2nd Hand Stall – We are looking for items / gifts in good condition. We are also looking for unwanted ornaments, DVDs, CDs, toys, jigsaws, Christmas decorations, books, etc.
All the above donations will be in exchange for coming to school in non-uniform on Friday 1st December. Please start collecting your donations, but only bring them into school on the morning of the fair as we have nowhere to store them.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help with setting up on the day or running a stall – if you can spare even just half an hour it would be hugely appreciated. If you’re able to help please email firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to Christine / Miriam on the playground.
Thank you for supporting our Easter event yesterday – whether donating goods, setting up, manning stalls or simply just attending, it is much appreciated. Everyone had a lovely time and the event raised £400 for the school, which is great. We had a really generous collection of cakes and Easter eggs – thank you.
Congratulations to Oliver Datta in Year 6 on winning the fabulous Easter hamper!
Well done everyone on another fantastic Christmas Fair! It was a fun afternoon and a good way to kick start the festive season. I think it may have been our busiest one so far with so many festive stalls to visit, including the amazing array of delicious cakes on offer. The money raised from the afternoon will go towards creating a wildlife area by the outdoor classroom.
Many thanks to everyone for their kind and extremely generous donations and thank you also to all the parents and staff who volunteered to help run the event and make it so special and such a success. A huge thank you as always to our incredibly hardworking PTA who spent a huge amount of time and effort getting everything ready for the fair.
Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you for supporting our Easter event yesterday – whether donating goods, setting up, manning stalls or simply just attending, it is much appreciated. We are still finalising the accounts, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we had a really generous collection of cakes and Easter eggs – thank you.
Congratulations to Ben Burden on winning the fabulous Easter hamper!
Yesterday afternoon, some our girls from Year 5 and 6 took part in the local schools Girls Football Tournament held at The Grove Junior School. They played really well with great enthusiasm and team spirit. All the games were closely played with a draw against St Helens and Roundwood, and losing out to Manland and Kings School by only one goal in both matches.
Well done to our team, we are very proud of you.
Thank you to everyone who came to the Lego Exhibition on Saturday. Our third Lego Exhibition at the school was the most successful yet! It was a great day, everyone had a good time and we brought in over £7,000 for the school!
A massive thank you to Russell Chapman for sharing (and building!) his Lego collection for the event. It couldn’t have happened without him. Nor without the help and support of all those parents, carers and staff who volunteered their time to help plan, build, set up and run the event.
The amount of help we had and the enthusiasm received for this event bears testimony to what a great team of parents and staff we have, and what a great school The Lea is. THANK YOU all!
Note from Mrs Swinson: “What an amazing time we all had at the Lego Exhibition on Saturday! It was a fantastic success and everyone really enjoyed the day.
Huge thanks goes to both Russell Chapman for bringing in his amazing Lego models and to the PTA who spent so much time and effort organising and running the event in the lead up to the day and on the day itself. The exhibition could not have taken place without these parents/carers and we are extremely grateful to them. The exhibition raised more than £8,000 in funds for the school which is absolutely magnificent! Thank you so much to everyone involved.”
