Cross Country

November 7, 2017

Some of our pupils from Year 5 and 6 took part in the local schools Cross Country event at Rovers football ground in Harpenden this afternoon. Despite typical cross country condition (drizzle, muddy and slippery conditions), all the children were incredibly motivated and enthusiastic throughout, and behaved impeccably both before and after their races.

Thank you to Miss Weston and Mr Harris for accompanying and supporting the children, and to parents and carers who came along to cheer them on.

District Cross Country Event

November 10, 2016

Some of our pupils from Year 5 and 6 took part in the local schools Cross Country event in Harpenden this afternoon. They all did really well, with great determination, team effort and smiles throughout – even when our Year 5 girls had to endure the sudden flurry of hailstones during their race!

Well done to everyone involved, you were a credit to the school and we’re very proud of you.

Thank you to Mrs Roper, Miss Weston and Mr Harris who accompanied the children.

Cross Country Tournament

November 25, 2014

18 children from Year 5 and 6 represented The Lea at the Harpenden Schools District Cross Country Championships at The Rovers Football Ground in Harpenden today.  The course was 1.5km long and consisted of 4 races, with about 70 children taking part in each race.

All the Lea School competitors showed great determination and worked really well together as a team, giving each other lots of support and encouragement. Special mention to Tasmin in Year 5, who for a short while was leading the Year 5 girls race, and who eventually finished a fantastic 6th place. Thank you to Mrs Davenport and Mrs Roper for organising our school’s participation in the event and also thank you to Mrs Martin, Mrs Clarke, Mrs Earl and to Mrs Glover who helped with transport to and from the event.
